The Morton Community Foundation is built on the generosity of donors who have created a wide variety of endowment funds—each one inspired by a passion for a specific cause, charity, or community need. These funds are grouped into different Types; Structured for Impact, as outlined below, based on how grants are distributed and who makes the decisions. Every fund includes a purpose statement—Funds by Impact Area: Passion Meets Purpose, which guides how the investment proceeds will be used to support charitable needs or fields of interest in the Morton area—both now and in the future.

    HOU, SAMANTHA – PEORIA HUMANE SOCIETY / PAWS FUND - This fund supports the Peoria Humane Society’s PAWS program, focusing on cat care and adoption efforts.     TAZEWELL ANIMAL PROTECTIVE SOCIETY (TAPS) FUND - This fund provides annual support to the Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS), a no-kill shelter in Pekin, Illinois.   • MHS BAND ENDOWMENT FUND - This fund provides annual support to the Morton High School Band Boosters to enhance the MHS instrumental band programs.     BANE, KAY BETH (JIBBEN) MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND - This fund was started in 1989 by the Class of 1954 in loving memory of their classmate Kay Beth Jibben.     BERTHA FRANK PERFORMING ARTS CENTER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND - This fund was started in January of 2003 by the Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center Foundation. The fund's purpose is to provide support for ongoing capital improvements to the facility. CLICK HERE to learn more.

    MORTON FINE ARTS ENDOWMENT FUND - This fund was established to promote and encourage the fine arts in all forms within Morton, Illinois.     MORTON ORCHESTRA ENDOWMENT FUND - This Fund was started in April of 2004 by an anonymous donor. The purpose of the fund is to provide annual grants to the Morton Orchestra Parents organization to help purchase needed equipment to make the Morton Orchestra program better and better every year.     WHITE, HEIDI MEMORIAL MUSIC ENDOWMENT FUND - This fund provides annual grants to support music education in Morton School District 709, with priority given to the choral department.     DOWNTOWN BEAUTIFICATION ENDOWMENT IN MEMORY OF WITZIG’S STORE - Established in November 2015 by the families of Gene and Harold Witzig, this fund supports the beautification of Downtown Morton.     DENNIS & PAULA EWALD FAMILY ENDOWMENT FUND - This unrestricted fund was established in 2009 by the Morton Community Foundation Board of Directors in honor of Dennis Ewald’s six years of service as Board President. Created by renaming a $10,000 portion of the Morton Impact Fund, it allows the Foundation flexibility to support the evolving needs of the Morton community through grants to local 501(c)(3) organizations.     LIZ MEIER MORTON PUMPKIN FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER GIVE-BACK FUND - This fund supports nonprofit and youth groups that volunteer at the Morton Pumpkin Festival by providing annual grants to those who supply at least ten volunteers for a shift or activity.
