We Care Endowment Fund
A permanent source of support for neighbors in need
The We Care, Inc. Endowment Fund provides dependable, annual support for We Care, a division of TCRC, Inc. For nearly five decades, We Care has been the only nonprofit of its kind in our community—and even the county—serving older adults, individuals with disabilities, and families in need. Through Meals on Wheels, transportation services, a food pantry, and other vital programs, We Care helps neighbors remain independent and improves quality of life across the community.
How the fund began
In December 2011, the We Care, Inc. Board of Directors partnered with the Morton Community Foundation to establish an endowed Agency Fund. Their vision was to create a lasting financial foundation that would generate annual investment income to strengthen the organization’s services year after year. By choosing endowment, We Care created a fund that not only supports current operations but also grows over time, ensuring that future generations will benefit from its mission.
About We Care
Founded in 1975 as a nonprofit charitable corporation governed by an eleven-member volunteer board, We Care has always focused on helping individuals maintain independence and live with dignity. Now a division of TCRC, Inc., the organization continues to address growing and diverse needs as people live longer and families cannot always provide direct care. For more than 40 years, We Care has been a trusted source of community support, offering services to the elderly, disabled, and those in need.
Mission Statement
“Provide services that help individuals maintain independence and improve the quality of life for those in need.”
Goal
To help clients remain in their own homes as long as possible. We Care operates as a community service, sustained by memorials, local churches, civic groups, private organizations, caring individuals, the Heart of Illinois United Way, Central Illinois Agency on Aging, Inc., and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Why it matters
We Care’s work fills a unique role in our community—meeting needs that would otherwise go unmet. Whether delivering meals, offering safe transportation, or providing food assistance, We Care strengthens both individuals and the community as a whole. By contributing to the endowment, donors help ensure that these essential programs remain strong not just today, but for generations to come.
