The Rotary Club of Morton Scholarship
This fund was started in July of 2011 by the Rotary Club of Morton, IL. The fund will award two annual scholarship(s) to MHS Seniors or 6 semester graduates…one who will be attending a 2-year college, and another who will be attending a 4-year college in the year following graduation. The student must have been a member of the Interact Club for at least 2 years prior to graduation. Scholarship winners are selected each year by a committee of members of the Rotary Club of Morton.
The Morton Rotary Club had been funding yearly scholarships through its annual budget. The Club decided that it would be wise to begin building an endowment fund that would eventually fully fund their scholarship for generations to come, freeing up the money from their annual budget.
Interact is Rotary International's service club for young people ages 12 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting.
