The Leadership Forever Operations Endowment

This fund was started in February of 2008 by Board of Trustees of the Morton Community Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to provide annual grants to support the operating budget of the MCF.

Our Leadership Forever Fund (Endowed Operating Fund) supports the day-to-day operations of the Morton Community Foundation.  This fund differs from the Today and Tomorrow Fund in that the Leadership Forever Fund is an endowment fund that is building a permanent source of income for our operations.  Endowment funds are designed to protect the principal of the fund.  Our goal is to spend only a portion of the earnings from the invested funds, leaving the principal and any unspent earnings to continue generating income for the future.

The Community Foundation enables donors to give back to our community by establishing various types of charitable funds, including scholarships and awards, nonprofit endowments, field of interest funds and donor advised funds.  We offer these services through a very small, efficient staff and a business plan that maximizes efficiencies while reducing costs.

Although the Community Foundation charges a minimal management fee to administer the charitable funds under its umbrella, this income is not enough to support our work.
