The Morton Impact (Unrestricted) Fund
This fund was one of the 5 original funds established during the Morton Community Foundation's "Founder's Campaign" in 2000. The purpose of the Morton Impact Fund is to provide annual grants to support the broadest range of local charitable needs - including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made.
In order to offer donors several options to support local causes during the Foundation's "Founder's Campaign," the MCF Board of Trustees established 5 initial funds: Morton Impact (Unrestricted) Fund, Morton Community Services Fund, Morton Parks and Recreation Fund, Morton Library Services Fund, and Morton Education Fund. With few exceptions, these are the only funds created by the Foundation Board itself. Typically, funds are started by donors who wish to establish a permanent source of revenue for a cause, agency, or field of interest that they are personally most interested in.
The Morton Impact Fund is an "Unrestricted Fund." Donations to Unrestricted Funds allow the community foundation’s board of directors the most flexibility in fulfilling the ever changing needs of the community. Grants from unrestricted funds can be made to any 501(c) organization for their charitable purposes in the Morton area.
The Morton Impact Fund may be used by the Foundation Board to meet any and all philanthropic community needs. Donations of any size to this fund will help build the future capacity of the Foundation to meet future needs.
Your gift will address a broad range of local purposes—including future purposes that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made. We evaluate all aspects of community well-being: arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health and human services, parks & recreation, and more. The flexibility of your unrestricted gift enables the Morton Community Foundation to positively impact the community’s most pressing needs, today and for generations to come.
