Morton Orchestra Endowment
Supporting music education for generations to come
The Morton Orchestra Fund was established in 2004 by an anonymous donor who wanted to ensure that young musicians in Morton would always have the resources they need to learn, perform, and grow.
How the fund began
With children in the Morton High School Orchestra, the donor had a front-row seat to the impact of music education. Their gift created a permanent endowment, with the income providing annual support to the Morton Orchestra Parents organization. The very first grants helped purchase items such as a new violin, garment bags, orchestral composing software, and electronic string instruments—tangible tools that enriched the program immediately.
Why it matters
This fund continues to provide annual grants forever, supporting the growth of the orchestra and ensuring students have access to quality instruments and resources. Because the principal is never spent, the fund grows over time, making even more possible for future generations.
As the donor said: “Music is good for kids. I wanted to ensure this program would continue, and I wanted people to know that this is an excellent program. I want that for other kids.”
Your role
This fund was created by one family’s vision, but it can grow through the generosity of many. Anyone who has been touched by the Morton Orchestra program—or who believes in the power of music to shape lives—is invited to give. Together, we can keep music strong in Morton schools for years to come.
