Morton Fine Arts Endowment
Celebrating creativity. Enriching community.
The Morton Fine Arts Endowment Fund supports programs that inspire, teach, and showcase the arts in Morton. Through this fund, generous donors help bring music, theater, dance, and visual arts to audiences of all ages—building a more vibrant community today and for years to come.
What this fund supports
Grants from this fund may assist:
Concerts, musical and theatrical productions
Public displays of visual art (sculpture, painting, photography)
Ballet and dance recitals
Other visual and performing arts experiences that benefit Morton residents
How the fund began
The fund was established in 2007 through the efforts of Phil Kuhl, seeded by proceeds from a benefit concert at the Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center featuring The New Orleaners, a Dixieland band from Denmark. The event generated $12,500 in initial gifts to launch the endowment—an early example of how community members can turn passion for the arts into lasting impact.
Why it matters
Arts experiences spark creativity, strengthen local identity, and bring people together. By pooling gifts in a permanent endowment, this fund preserves and grows principal while providing annual grants to sustain fine arts opportunities in Morton—year after year.
