The primary purpose of this fund is for support of projects, individuals, and organizations, which direct their efforts in community service, service learning, and service-driven activities. Although the Fund is available to the community as a whole, special consideration will be given to youth and young adults as they seek to develop their service-driven leadership abilities and/or service to others. While doing "Something for Others", we hope the participants develop their sense of social responsibility, think critically, serve generously, and lead responsibly.
This fund was established by an anonymous donor as a gift to her husband on his 50th birthday. The proceeds from the investment of these funds will generate grants annually forever, for the purposes stated. It's a birthday gift that very literally keeps on giving.
Some of the organizations that would be eligible (not an exhaustive list) for support from this fund would be: Heart of Morton, Midwest Central Young Marines, Girl Scouts of Morton, and Boy Scouts of Morton.
