Morton Soccer Scholarship

Scholarship established in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Morton Soccer

In 1978 a short notice in the local newspaper invited children ages elementary through junior high to attend a soccer clinic.  Soccer wasn’t a sport that people in Morton knew much about. They would learn, though, about off sides, goalkeeping and the intricacies of a sport that is played around the world.

After years of planning and hard work by a long roster of players off the field, Morton High School celebrated the 25th season of boys’ soccer in the fall of 2010.

2012 Winner - Erin Tisdale

Photo by Don PylesThis year's winner of the $1,000 Morton Soccer Scholarship is Erin Tisdale.  She will be attending Saint Louis University in the Fall and plans to study Exercise Science.  Erin was on the National Honors Society for 3 years, a peer tutor, office helper, and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She was a member of the Student Council on which she served as Secretary one year, and as Vice President for 2 years.

She was on the MHS High Honor Roll all 4 years, and played Varsity Basketball, Soccer, and Volleyball.  She was team Captain of the Basketball team for 3 years, and was on the Dance team all 4 years.
