Foundation Receives $10,000 Donation from Erie Insurance Group
The Morton Community Foundation has received a $10,000 grant from the Erie Insurance Group to benefit the Morton Lacrosse Club, toward the purchase of needed equipment and gear to establish a quality Lacrosse program for Morton’s youth.
The Morton Lacrosse Club is open to junior high and high school students, and will ultimately be expanded to include younger children. Morton Lacrosse is dedicated to providing its members and the community with the opportunity to discover and embrace the shared passion of the lacrosse experience.
Local Erie Insurance Agent Don Endress, a managing partner at Ledgestone Insurance Group, 118 S. Main St., Morton, and Ray Cogan, vice president and branch manager at Erie Insurance, were instrumental in securing the grant from the Erie Insurance Giving Network.
“The Morton Community Foundation is pleased to establish the Morton Lacrosse Club Fund through a partnership with the Morton Park District. The fund provides a conduit for the gift from Erie Insurance to ensure support of Morton’s Lacrosse club,” said Scott Witzig, executive director of the Morton Community Foundation.
“Above all in service has been a guiding principle at Erie Insurance for generations,” said Cogan. “We believe in making a difference in the communities where we live and work, and this grant is another example of our commitment to this area.”
